Born in Kadikoy Istanbul, he studied business administration at Istanbul Technical University, then worked as Manager at ZIYA Restaurant Nisantasi & ZIYA Touristic Facilities Ortakoy between 1990-1998. He then took his 8 years of experience gleaned from ZIYA Restaurant, including experience in management, event organization, hospitality, Turkish, Mediterranean and French cuisine, and quality of service, and applied them to his floating restaurant yacht on the Bosphorus. He continues to enchant about 50,000 local and international guests each year with his delicious menus savoured while floating along the unique and magical Bosphorus.

He began his cooking career in 1959, working for 3 years as an apprentice alongside the greatest chef of the time, Mehmet Usta, at the Bursa Cekirge Palace Hotel.
He came to Istanbul in 1962 to work as chef at Melih Cuculi’s Polo Club.
When the club closed in 1980 he transferred to Park Samdan as chef.
He went to Spain in 1983, working at a private mansion in Marbella for 3 years.
He returned to his homeland in 1986, working as chef for the next 5 years at Brifink Tourism’s five star hotels.
From 1991 he worked for 4 years at Buyuk Kulup Gazino, again as chef.
He worked for two years at Yurtbank Balkaner Plaza in 1995.
In 1997 he began a four-year experience on Haldun & Cigdem Simavi’s yacht HALAS, along the coast of Gocek. He prepared banquets for kings, heads of state and businessmen.
A veteran of Turkish cooking, Mr. Huseyin OZBAY continues to delight the palates of esteemed guests on our yacht with all his extensive skills and experience.
